Investment giant Bian Capital to establish new crypto fund
Bain Capital, a major investment company in Boston, revealed on the 8th that it will establish a fund specializing in cryptocurrencies.
The reports were first revealed via an SEC filing on the 8th. The fund is called BCV Crypto Fund I, L.P., according to the documents submitted by the company. The filing has named Ajay Agarwal and Enrique Salem as partners of Bain Capital Ventures.
Bain Capital is a global private equity fund that currently has over $136 billion in assets under management.
Bain Capital Ventures (BCV), a subsidiary of the company, has also invested in major cryptocurrency investment companies such as Digital Currency Group, DeFi Compound, and lending giant BlockFi.
In May of this year, BCV raised about $1.3 billion in funding which would be invested across two funds. These funds will invest in telecommunications and data infrastructure startups, as well as fintech companies working in cryptocurrencies, e-commerce, and medical tech companies.
